The recessed speaker enclosure for use with a 4 inch driver and screw-mount grille features an extended flange, making it ideal for new construction where the flange protects the opening from plaster, poured concrete or sheetrock. It can also be used in existing construction when installed in suspended tile ceilings, in which case a tile bridge or channel rails are recommended.

The recessed enclosure for a 4″ speaker shall be Lowell model CP4, which shall be 22-gauge steel with black powder epoxy finish and undercoated to reduce acoustic and metallic resonance. Dimensions shall be 6.31″ diameter x 4″ deep. The enclosure shall feature an extended flange and four (1/2″–3/4″) compound knockouts for conduit. It shall be made in the U.S.A.
