The black enclosure for recessed installation of 8″ speaker drivers shall be Lowell model 8PSBX, which shall be injection molded 0.125″ high density Tenite® polypropylene plastic, which shall feature a ribbed interior frame for resonance and vibration control. It shall have a tapered shape with can diameter that tapers from 10″ to 8.375″ (11.75″ dia. overall). It shall have a depth of 4″. The enclosure shall have four pre-molded thin wall knockouts spaced at 90-degree intervals that can be drilled for conduit entry. The mounting flange for the grille shall have eight 0.218″ dia. holes spaced at 45-degree intervals and shall maintain factory-installed 8-32 screw retaining clips in four places spaced at 90-degree intervals. The diameter of the grille mounting bolt circle shall be 11.25″ to accept the specified grille.
